Apollo 50th Anniversary Experience
The Kennedy Space Center Visitor’s Complex wanted to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Apollo 11 mission to the moon.
I helped craft an experiential campaign that transported an audience all the way back to 1969.

The Kennedy Space Center Visitor’s Complex is a truly once-in-a-lifetime destination for anyone with a passion for space exploration. With exhibits that immerse audiences in the history and wonder of space flight, they know the value of a good experience. Working with SPRY, I was challenged with recreating the feeling of being right there in the moment in 1969 at the climax of the space race: when NASA launched the Apollo 11 rocket that would allow man to walk on the moon for the very first time in human history.
The concept was to host a live event to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Apollo 11 mission with a real-time recreation of the launch itself synchronized down to the second. Using CBS archival news footage, I was able to recreate a multi-hour countdown video that was the main feature of the event.
